NEW ULM, MN – The oldest family-owned brewery in Minnesota, August Schell Brewing Company, announced today that their visitor’s center addition is finished, and the brand-new taproom is open. The taproom features 20 taplines full of Grain Belt and Schell’s fan favorites, a giant Deer Brand mural, and a shady patio out back.  

Since 1860, Schell’s Brewery has been rooted in tradition while still committing to innovation. “We wanted to make sure that while we take this step forward, we still were paying homage to our German roots and remembering what got us here,” Ted Marti, President of Schell’s mentioned in reference to the taproom. “We can’t wait to enjoy it with everyone!”

The taproom’s grand opening is this Friday, June 11th, from 11AM-8PM. After Friday, the hours will be as follows: 

  • Sunday: 12-5pm  
  • Monday: 12-5 pm  
  • Tuesday: 12-5pm  
  • Wednesday: 12-5pm  
  • Thursday: 12-7 pm  
  • Friday: 11am-8pm    
  • Saturday: 11am-8pm

In addition to the taproom opening, brewery tours are back on during the following time slots: 

  • Monday-Thursday: 1PM, 2:30PM, 4PM 
  • Thursday-Saturday9: 1PM, 2PM, 3PM, 4PM
