Join us on Friday in the taproom for the release of Hero Hazy IPA, and the kick-off of a month of raising awareness and increasing support of men’s cancers through craft beer!
In addition to the beer release, we’ll have food, live music, and we’ll begin selling “Hero Cards” in exchange for donations to the JZ Cancer Fund. Donations will be accepted in any amount, and will earn you $1 off a pour in our taproom. You may choose to dedicate the cards to a loved one, or simply fill in your name. Hero Cards will be put on display on our “Hero Wall” in our taproom for the entire month of November.
HERO Hazy IPA is a collaboration beer created between Mankato Brewery and Lupulin Brewing Company, originally brewed in 2018 to bring attention to Men’s Health and Cancer Awareness during the month of November.
The inspiration behind this beer is Jonathan Zierdt, close friend to Mankato Brewery founder, Tim Tupy, and the brother to Lupulin Brewing co-founder, Jeff Zierdt. Jonathan lost his battle with cancer after 5 years in March 2019, during this time he used his illness to bring awareness to men’s health issues and his foundation, the Jonathan Zierdt Cancer Fund.
Hero Hazy IPA is a Double IPA coming in at 8.18% ABV and 66 IBU, which is Jonathan’s date of birth (8/18/66). HERO Hazy IPA is all about friendship, awareness and never surrendering to the fight against cancer. So, become aware, get tested, and live longer.
