Walking on nails with a million dollar scowl, there he is, Mr. Northeast. When asked he can discuss craft brewing for hours while stroking his luxurious facial hair. Dressed in only his finest flannel, Mr. Northeast is looking for the kind of love you can only find at bar close. From the wrong side of the tracks, collecting vinyl before it was cool, more legend than mere mortal, he’s got what it takes to represent his corner of the city. He’ll take the town by storm, with his all-American face and form, he’s Mr. Northeast!

Ladies and gents, ghouls and gals, it’s that special time of year when the men of Minneapolis’ most niche neighborhood flock to Grumpy’s Northeastto compete before a panel of celebrity judges to find fame, fortune, and a year’s worth of beer. Contending in the categories of “Fashion”, “Talent”, and “Question & Answer”, just one legendary local can be crowned with the ultimate title of Mr. Northeast. After all, it’s not just a neighborhood, it’s a lifestyle, and we’re prepared to judge you on it.

Think you have what it takes to be crowned the quintessential Northeast dude? Then step right up, strike a pose, and show us what you got. Eligible contestants are 21 years of age or older, identify as male, and live or work in Northeast Minneapolis. Interested parties must submit answers to a brief set of thoughtful questions (true beauty is on the inside, boys) and pay a $10 registration fee. Eight contestants will be chosen at the discretion of the Mr. Northeast committee, with registration fees benefitting East Side Neighborhood Services. Nominate yourself or a friend by Saturday, September 9th and see if you’ve got the jorts to be named the man, the myth, legend – Mr. Northeast.
