Fresh Energy is teaming up with the owners and brewers at 56 Brewing to welcome spring with a party celebrating the 2020 edition of Solarama Crush. This perfectly crushable, hoppy IPA is brewed with honey from pollinator-friendly solar arrays and it’s back by popular demand for a third year. Just in time for warmer weather!
Join Fresh Energy friends, staff, and supporters at 56 Brewing on March 19 and raise a glass for clean energy. A variety of beer, kombucha, and soda will be available for purchase and a few food trucks will be on hand as well. Proceeds from this event will be donated to Fresh Energy.

Pollinator-friendly solar arrays—building the ingredients
So how does it all work? Beekeepers partner with solar developers, and with companies who purchase solar energy, to place and tend to beehives at pollinator-friendly solar sites. Honey bees naturally forage for pollen and nectar within three miles of the hive. Honey produced on or adjacent to pollinator-friendly solar arrays is then extracted and bottled separately from other honey, where it’s used to add a subtle sweetness to the flavor profiles of specialty craft beers, like Solarama Crush.
