Ales and Owls: St. Croix River Saw Whet Owl Study

Every October, hundreds of Northern Saw-whet Owls migrate through the backyards of slumbering St. Croix Valley residents, passing unseen through the night. These tiny owls weigh only as much as eight Oreo cookies, yet travel distances in excess of 800 miles in search of safe wintering grounds.
