On the first Tuesday of every month, we pull a true banger out of the cellar to share with you. This month we will be featuring a one-of-a-kind Double Barrel Speedway Stout from AleSmith Brewing Company. (Bourbon and Portuguese Port Wine BA American Imperial Stout w/ Coffee – ABV 13% – Mini-Snifter)

This variation of Speedway Stout has gone through two different maturations in two types of oak barrels to develop its complex flavor profile. The extended aging period in freshly used bourbon barrels helps develop the rich notes of vanilla, caramel and oak. The beer‘s aging process in Portuguese port barrels added notes of raisin and plum. The beer was also combined with local San Diego roasted coffee to balance the profile of chocolate and roasted malts.
