For a second year in a row, GetKnit is teaming up with Modist Brewing Company, ZZQ Smokehouse, and some incredible bands to help you kick the mid-winter blues with our event: Brews, Blues, & BBQ!

A mid-winter mini-festival would not be complete without some local live music, which is why we’ve teamed up with Genius of Fun to enlist four of Minnesota’s best blues-inspired bands: Hurricane Harold’s All Star Blues Revue, Alex Crankshaft Larson & the Gear Grinders, Corey Medina & Brothers and The Sena Ehrhardt & Cole Allen Duo.

Not allowing the wind chills to stop us from throwing an indoor mini-fest in honor of all things beer, music, and food, Modist Brewing Co. will serve as our hosts and open up their entire brewery exclusively for our guests to ensure that the only thing that is cold is the beer flowing from the taps.

Upon arrival, you will be treated to two tokens, each redeemable for a pint of Modist’s style-defying beer. Order up some of their flagship favorites such as Smoove, Wasteland, Phresh, and First Call or enjoy one of their one-off unique brews. In addition to their usual taproom selection, the brewers will be serving up several specialty beer infusions only for BB&B! Two beers not enough to satisfy your thirst? Additional beers will be available for purchase – allowing you to mix and match to your heart’s content.

No food warms the soul in the middle of winter like some hearty BBQ, which is why we’re proud to partner with ZZQ Smokehouse out of Eagan, MN as our exclusive food provider. Inspired by the science and art of cooking, pitmaster Zak Zeug and crew slow smoke their meat for hours on end until it is just right for serving. Included with your ticket is a sandwich sampler featuring a pulled pork slider, a smoked chopped chicken slider and your choice of hand-made potato salad or coleslaw. Should you choose to further indulge, ZZQ will be selling add-on BBQ and sides.

Turn your escape from the ‘winter blues’ into an overnight by taking advantage of access to our exclusive hotel block at the new Hewing Hotel, located just blocks from Modist. The Hewing is a century-old bring-and-timber warehouse that has been reshaped into a truly unique and independent hotel. This stunning property is offering discounts on both King and Double Queen rooms for our guests starting at only $179 (usually $229). These discounted rooms are limited, so make your reservations early should you choose to spend the night downtown and experience an “upscale and up north experience in the heart of Minneapolis”.
