Brews for Brains at Excelsior Brewing

Excelsior Brewing Company is dedicating a night of fundraising to the Alzheimer’s Association — through Team Brunette (RivAlz Twin Cities) — to support the critical research, patient care and support, and global advocacy efforts. Swing by the taproom to support the cause. They will be donating $0.50 of every pint sold to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Did you know that every 65 seconds someone in the United States develops Alzheimer’s Disease? It’s currently the 6th leading cause of death in Minnesota and kills more people each year than breast and prostate cancers combined. This is not just a disease among the elderly; more than half a million Americans < 65 are currently living with the disease, and the prevalence continues to rise. In the last 15 years, the number of people with Alzheimer’s has increased by more than 123%.

The Alzheimer’s Association works on global, national, and local levels to provide care and support for all those affected by Alzheimer’s and other dementias. Their goal is to eliminate the disease through advancement of research, scientific effort, and promotion of brain health.
