Bells- Special Double Cream Stout
RateBeer: 99
Beer Advocate: 3.96/5
“Named for its velvety smooth, creamy texture, this incredibly rich stout is brewed with 10 different specialty roasted malts chosen that impart notes of rich mocha and espresso. Dark and sweet tones intermingle with a soft, roasty finish.”

Boulevard/Firestone Walker – Barrel Aged Stout Collaboration #6
RateBeer: 98
Beer Advocate: 4.03/5
“The Collaboration series is our way to bring shared beer ideas to life with some of our favorite brewery friends from around the world. This year, we bring you a specially blended, barrel-aged beer with the help of our sister brewery in California, Firestone Walker. With Collaboration No. 6, Brewmasters Steven Pauwels and Matt Brynildson have created a big, bold flavor combination by blending two Boulevard beers and two Firestone Walker Beers in the following percentages:

Boulevard Bourbon Barrel Quad – 45%
Firestone Walker Stickee Monkee – 35%
Boulevard Imperial Stout X – Tart Cherry (whiskey barrel-aged) – 10%
Firestone Walker Velvet Merkin – 10%”

Boulevard – Whiskey Barrel Stout
RateBeer: 99
Beer Advocate: 4.11/5
“Barrel Aged Imperial Stout. Over-the-top but surprisingly approachable, this twist on the classic style starts with several types of malted barley, rye, oats and wheat. Robust flavors of vanilla, espresso, whiskey, chocolate and roasted grain are balanced by hints of date and plum, with just enough hops to round it all out. Roughly one-third of the final blend is freshly brewed beer; the rest is aged for up to a year (or more!) in both first and second use whiskey casks.”

Brooklyn Brewing – Black Ops
RateBeer: 99
Beer Advocate: 4.12/5
“Brooklyn Black Ops does not exist. However, if it did exist, it would be a strong stout concocted by the Brooklyn brewing team under cover of secrecy and hidden from everyone else at the brewery.”

Central Waters – 2015 Bourbon Barrel Stout
RateBeer: 99
Beer Advocate: 4.26/5
“American-style stout aged for 1 year in used 12 year bourbon barrels.”

Central Waters – Space Ghost Stout
RateBeer: 96
Beer Advocate: 4.07/5
“Out of the light and into the darkness comes an Imperial Stout with Ghost Peppers added. Space is full of mystery, darkness, and the heat of 1,000 suns. Don’t fear the heat, it’s the ghost that will get you!”

Clown Shows – Itaska Loonadragon 2017 (MN EXCLUSIVE)
RateBeer: NA
BeerAdvocate: NA
“Bourbon Barrel Aged with Cacao Nibs”

Dogfish Head – Oak Aged Vanilla World Wide Stout
RateBeer: 99
Beer Advocate: 4.28/5
“Rare and often rumored about in the darkest corners of the beer community, World Wide Stout is dark, rich, roasty and complex, and lingers somewhere beyond the limits of the average beer.
Brewed with a ridiculous amount of barley, we’ve now taken this Dogfish Head classic and aged it on oak with real vanilla beans! With a little tender love and care we foster this beer from smooth, sweet wort into the big, bad blackend stout it always longed to be. Its bold, port-like complexity goes great with (or as) dessert. “

Evil Twin – Even More Jesus
RateBeer: 100
Beer Advocate: 4.29/5
“A few times in the history of craft beer it has happened that a highly praised beer rises beyond mortal stardom into the higher godly league. Usually the recipe to make such heavenly drops is thick fudge-like body, pitch black color, amazingly overwhelming aromas of chocolate, coffee, dark fruits and muscovado sugar, obviously only made in limited amounts and most crucial of all — it must taste rare!”

Founders- CBS Barrel Aged Stout
RateBeer: 100
Beer Advocate: 4.67/5
“CBS was born when we stumbled upon some bourbon barrels that had previously housed maple syrup. We opted to put the same base beer as KBS, an imperialized version of Breakfast Stout, in the maple barrels and, after one taste, we knew we had something special. Rich maple syrup, roasted coffee and velvety chocolate meld together in what can only be described as a transcendental drinking experience.”

Goose Island- 2014 Bourbon County Stout
RateBeer: 100
Beer Advocate: 4.6/5
“Bourbon County Brand Stout is meant to show our immense gratitude to our neighbors here in Chicago – the loyal and adventurous fans whose support helped bring Bourbon County Brand Stout to towering new heights.
2014 variant – Made in Rye barrels with Cassia Bark, Cocoa Nibs, Panela and Coconut Water”

Goose Island- 2015 Bourbon County Stout
RateBeer: 100
Beer Advocate: 4.6/5
“Brewed in honor of the 1000th batch at our original Clybourn brewpub. A liquid as dark and dense as a black hole with thick foam the color of a bourbon barrel. The nose is an intense mix of charred oak, chocolate, vanilla, caramel and smoke. One sip has more flavor than your average case of beer.”

Great Lakes – Blackout Stout
RateBeer: 99
Beer Advocate: 4.2/5
“Bold and dark as a power-less metropolis, our Russian Imperial Stout commemorates the infamous 2003 blackout that briefly left some 55 million people utterly unplugged.”

Hoppin’ Frog- B.O.R.I.S.
Ratebeer: 100
Beer Advocate: 4.23/5
“This Bodacious Oatmeal Russian Imperial Stout will crush you like no other! This is the grand-daddy of all stout styles, with an intensely deep roasted and full bodied flavor. A robust hop character adds a refreshing balance.”

Hoppin’ Frog – Infusion A Coffee Porter
RateBeer: 99
Beer Advocate: 4.27/5
“Swirls of heavenly chocolate and peanut butter flavors surround your senses, as you enjoy this wonderful maze of complexity that is “Infusion A”. The first of our Tower Tuesdays Series, this robust coffee porter is a great example of the eye-opening flavors we have developed with our Tuesday infusions. Taste the results of our research, we truly are developing better beer through knowledge.”

Lagunitas – Willett Coffee Stout
RateBeer: 99
Beer Advocate: 4.35/5
“Coffee imperial stout aged in Willett Rye Oak Barrels.”

Prairie – Bourbon Paradise

Beer Advocate: 4.66/5
“Imperial Stout Aged in Bourbon Barrels with Coconut and Vanilla”

Also:

Great Divide – Barrel Aged Hibernation Ale
RateBeer: 98
Beer Advocate: 4.06/5
“Over 12 months in whiskey barrels has completely transformed our prized winter seasonal, producing a Hibernation that starts with big whiskey flavors before mellowing out into luscious chocolate, dark fruit and vanilla.”
