On Thursday, July 12th, we’ll welcome Innocence Project of Minnesota to the taproom as our next Pints for a Purpose partner! From 4-10pm that night, $1 from every pint, bottle, and growler you buy will help them represent people who were wrongfully convicted for crimes they did not commit.
About Innocence Project of Minnesota:
Each year we field nearly 350 phones calls, emails and requests for information on our services. We send out over 150 questionnaires to inmates with potential claims of innocence. We have 30 cases open in screening and investigation, and another 13 awaiting screening. We are currently litigating 3 cases.
We also educate attorneys and criminal justice professionals on best practices, and work to reform the criminal justice system to prevent wrongful convictions and other unjust results in criminal cases.
Our legal team investigates claims of wrongful conviction from prisoners convicted of crimes in Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota where DNA or other overwhelming evidence of innocence is present.
