This weekend’s crowler releases are hazier than the planet Bespin.
Luke, Leia, and Han are three hazy IPAs designed to show off Ella hops, an Australian variety that provides bright aromas of fresh cut grass and tropical fruit flavors. All three beers were brewed with 2-row barley, malted wheat, flaked oats, and plenty of Ella. Since we couldn’t decide which hop complemented Ella the best, we’re releasing this fitting trio of pairings instead. Citra provides Luke has bright citrus peel notes, Mosaic adds a hint of berry to Leia, and Simcoe lends Han an added blast of fruit flavor.
Each beer is related to each other — perhaps more so than they originally knew — while still having their own nuances and intricacies.
Luke, Leia, and Han will all be available on tap and in crowlers starting Friday, March 8.
