February is FINALLY over, and we’re celebrating with four straight weeks of all new beer/mead and beer/wine hybrids bottle releases.
Up first is Mutual Weirdness, a brett-conditioned doppelbock that was aged in used bourbon mead barrels on local honey from Ames Farm.
Mutual Weirdness began as traditional doppelbock recipe and 10 gallons of Ames Farm honey was added during lager fermentation. Once fermentation was complete, the beer was transferred to used mead barrels to age on an additional 10 gallons of honey and Brett yeast. The resulting beer/mead hybrid is dry and crisp with heavy notes of honey, fig, bourbon, and malt.
Bottles will be available on Saturday, March 9th at noon (11:30am for Forgotten Barrel Society members). $18 a bottle, no limit.
